Four steps
Getting Ready for the First Stay
Call or send a request
Tell us about your pet and the dates you have in mind. New dogs start with a free trial day, which we set up by phone.
Send vaccination records
E-mail, fax or bring in proof of current vaccines. No pet can be admitted without them on file.
Free 4-hour trial day
New dogs spend a free 4-hour daycare session with us, Monday to Thursday, dropped off between 10am and 12pm, so we can get to know them.
Forms and drop-off
Fill out the Pet Agreement once and a Check-In Form every visit, then bring your pet, their food and any medications.
The pre-boarding trial
Why We Meet Every Dog First
Every new dog comes in for a free 4-hour daycare session before boarding with us for the first time. Trials are Monday through Thursday, with drop-off between 10am and 12pm.
The trial lets our staff see how your dog behaves in our environment and make sure they won’t be a danger to themselves, other dogs or our team. It also helps us learn their personality and find good playmates. For families with more than one dog, we make sure they get along together in a shared space.
Call (248) 879-0420 to set up your trial.

The Longview difference
What Your Pet Can Expect
Highly recommended by local veterinary clinics, and run by people who treat your pets like family.
Family-run since 1956
Longview has cared for pets on this same property since 1956, first as Vincent Kennels. The people who run it have always lived right here.
Indoor/outdoor runs
Every dog has an indoor/outdoor run, some up to 40 feet long. Dogs go outside every 2 hours, and in good weather they come and go as they please.
The Buddy System
Dogs are pack animals. Single dogs can share a run with a well-matched buddy of similar size, age and personality. Dogs who prefer their own space get it.
A quiet place for cats
Cats stay in a fully separate area away from the dogs, with a picture window, and their area and litter boxes are cleaned at least twice a day.
Comfortable year-round
Central heating and cooling in all buildings, and a 24-hour monitored fire and carbon monoxide alarm.
Grooming 7 days a week
Three experienced groomers in our own grooming salon, so a bath or haircut can be ready when you pick up.
FAQ
New Client Questions
Is the trial day really free?
Yes. The 4-hour pre-boarding trial is a daycare session at no cost to you.
When can we do the trial?
Monday through Thursday, with drop-off between 10am and 12pm. Call (248) 879-0420 to schedule it.
Do cats need a trial?
The trial is for dogs, so we can see how they do with other dogs and our staff. Cats just need their vaccinations on file.
How far ahead should we plan?
Schedule the trial and any vet visits well ahead: no vaccinations or vet visits are allowed within 14 days of boarding.
