Why Families Choose Longview
Highly recommended by local veterinary clinics, and run by people who treat your pets like family.
Family-run since 1956
Longview has cared for pets on this same property since 1956, first as Vincent Kennels. The people who run it have always lived right here.
Indoor/outdoor runs
Every dog has an indoor/outdoor run, some up to 40 feet long. Dogs go outside every 2 hours, and in good weather they come and go as they please.
The Buddy System
Dogs are pack animals. Single dogs can share a run with a well-matched buddy of similar size, age and personality. Dogs who prefer their own space get it.
A quiet place for cats
Cats stay in a fully separate area away from the dogs, with a picture window, and their area and litter boxes are cleaned at least twice a day.
Comfortable year-round
Central heating and cooling in all buildings, and a 24-hour monitored fire and carbon monoxide alarm.
Grooming 7 days a week
Three experienced groomers in our own grooming salon, so a bath or haircut can be ready when you pick up.
Our story
Nearly 70 Years on Livernois Road
Longview was founded in 1956, on the same property it occupies today, as Vincent Kennels. In keeping with the Vincents’ tradition, the people who look after Longview have always lived right here.
Over the years Longview grew to two large dog kennel buildings, an all-purpose grooming salon and a separate cat boarding area. Today it’s run by Mike and Amanda Russo, who took over in 2019. Amanda worked at Longview as a teenager, found her passion for pet care here, and came back more than a decade later.
